A little about us

Re:work is a charity based in South Bristol which offers training to young people and those wishing to re-enter the world of work, through furniture restoration, construction and gardening.

Within re:work there are three training arms.

rebuild_logo_green2.jpgis our construction project. Re:build carries out building work for vulnerable members of the community and community organisations. It engages young people in a volunteering programme (in conjunction with V4), carrying out the work under supervision. Young people (16-25) not engaged suitable education, training or work programmes, are able to participate in meaningful activities, while increasing their skills and confidence levels.

regrow_logo_green1.jpgis our gardening project. Re:grow works on the same premise as the construction project, but focuses on working with 14-19 year olds unable to attend full time education. Young people are engaged in tending elderly and disabled people’s gardens in the South Bristol area (grant funded, approximately 70 gardens per year) as well as contributing to the upkeep of public areas, such as the allotment site at the Knowle West Health Park.

restore_logo_green1.jpg is our furniture recycling project. Re:store accepts donated items of furniture from the community and repairs, renovates or revamps them in its furniture workshop. The furniture is then sold through our shop. The ethos and underlying purpose of this project is to give young people who have been excluded from school or placed on a reduced curriculum an opportunity to gain retail skills, carpentry and renovation skills, increase their self esteem and interact positively in their community.
